Grands Adventure You are on your way home and I know that Sammy and Joey are going to be the happiest kids in the world tonight when they see you again. They have been so good while you were gone. I'm not going to lie of course - there were the occasional meltdowns - but that is just part of being a kid. I have such regained respect for everything that you get done in a day - not sure how you do it! I'm exhausted but the best kind of tired. Also, have the greatest respect for the job you are doing as parents. These children are smart, funny, kind, compassionate, curious, open, and very brave. We have loved spending this time with them and hope they have enjoyed it too! Welcome home soon and enjoy the hugs they will give you!

Grands Adventure We were blessed over the weekend with amazing weather so we had lots of opportunities to play outside. Today is cloudy and rainy and the kids are back at school. We drove today but I walked them in because Joey wasn't sure what he was supposed to do if they weren't lining up outside and seemed pretty worried. We walked in and the teachers had everything under control and were getting everyone where they needed to be. Joey's teacher left school on Friday so I'm sure he will come up with news about her new baby. He and Papa will hang out tonight while Sammy and I go to the Basketball meeting and have a little break from "the boys" (as Sammy puts it). They both miss you guys but know you are having fun and they are excited to hear all about your trip. Have fun!

Grands Adventure These two are meant for a future in management. Examples: When I picked them up at the bus yesterday, I had a conference call going on over my car speakers. We got home and the call continued on my phone. They were such good quiet kids and had their snacks, started on some projects - all the while this call is going on. Finally, Sammy says to me "how long was this call supposed to be?". I told her it was supposed to be an hour but we were now at about 1.5 hours. Her eyes got huge the way they do when she senses an injustice and she said "You need to tell them that this call is over. In fact, it was over a long time ago." How right she was! Papa John came home and took Chip out for some fresh air and a brushing. He came back inside and told the kids that he brushed Chip and that he also vacumed him!! Without missing a beat, Joey said "Good - now go clean the vacume filter." LOL! They worked on some art projects (cards for Mollie...

Grands Adventure Well, the adventure began last night and it looks like the week is going to fly by! The kids settled in just fine. Who knew Cabbage Patch dolls from 1980's would be such a huge aid in helping them adjust? They were distracted taking care of them and helping them to settle in for the night which seemed to help the kids as well. Joey stripped his doll down for bedtime leaving him in only his diaper. He said the diapers say "strong men can wear diapers". They don't say that. They say "Cabbage Patch". Oh well - he tried! He immediately went in to sleep with Sammy. She was the best big sister and got him tucked in by her. She told me this morning that she didn't mind at all because otherwise, she might have been just a little scared too. Awwww.... They woke up early thanks to Papa John leaving for work which left them plenty of time for breakfast, getting ready and even some time to play. We walked to school which I thought would b...
